Induction ceremonies

A 30-day celebration of Fresno's finest athletes wraps up this week. Last month, Fresno High had its Wall of Fame dinner and Fresno State its baseball Wall of Fame ceremony.

FRESNO ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME DINNER

When: 7 p.m. Thursday at the Fresno Convention Center

Cost: $50

Inductees: Trent Dilfer, Fresno State football (1991-93) and 14-year NFL veteran. ... Ron Anderson, Fresno State basketball (1983-84). ... Laura Berg, Fresno State softball (1994-95, 1997-98) and four-time U.S. Olympian. ... Stephen Abas, Fresno State wrestling (1998-99, 2001-02) and two-time world champ. ... Grant Halstead, pro golfer 1919-27, 12-year head pro at Sunnyside Country Club, and ran Riverside GC 1939-61. ... Tom Goodwin, Central High and then Fresno State baseball (1987-89), 14-year big-league veteran ... Michael Mealiffe, All-America swimmer at Fresno High and USC and record-setting Masters competitor. ... Joan Pitcock, Clovis West High graduate and 17-year LPGA Tour career. ... Marquez Pope, Fresno State football (1988-91) and 10-year NFL player. ... 1983 Fresno State men's basketball team, won NIT title.
