Fresno State goalie Kaitlyn Revel broke the school's career shutout record in the Bulldogs' 1-0 win against Idaho on Sunday in the season's final game at Bulldog Stadium.

Revel, a junior, had three saves in registering her 24th career shutout and her fourth of the season.

"I think it's awesome to have the record," Revel said in a news release. "I am proud of myself, the team and the coaches. ... It is definitely big to get the shutout."

Defender Bianca Lopez provided the lone goal -- her first of the season -- on an assist from Bradlee DeShane at 6:11.

Fresno State (6-11 overall, 4-3 Western Athletic Conference), under first-year coach Brian Zwaschka, will seek its first winning streak of the season, playing at San Jose State in a regular-season finale Friday.

'Dogs doubles moves on

The Fresno State doubles tandem of Mirko Zapletal and Taylor Leiby advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Northwest Regional on Sunday in Berkeley.

Zapletal and Leiby defeated Cal's Sky Lovill and Zach Gilbert 8-5 to continue play today and possibly until Tuesday.

"Mirko and Taylor have shown great chemistry and continue to play solid," Fresno State coach Jay Udwadia said in a news release.

In singles play, Fresno State junior Rikus de Villiers lost 7-5, 6-7 (7), 7-5 to No. 76 Richard Wire of Stanford in the Round of 16.

Bulldogs doubles falls

Fresno State's doubles team of Anastasia Petukhova and Bianca Modoc were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the ITA Northwest Region on Sunday in Palo Alto.

The Bulldogs tandem lost to Stanford's Mallory Burdette and Stacey Tan 8-5 to conclude Fresno State's participation in the Round of 64. Petukhova and Modoc had won their first three matches.

George recognized by SI

Fresno State basketball player Paul George was named among the most entertaining players in the West region and the eighth most entertaining player in college basketball by Sports Illustrated.

George, a sophomore, caught the attention of SI.com's Luke Winn with his dunking ability.

"His posterizing of St. Mary's guard Mickey McConnell was one of last season's top-five dunks -- as was his slam over two Sacramento State players in the previous game," Winn said. "Even the YouTube coverage of George's practice dunks -- of which there are a few -- are extremely entertaining."

Last year, George averaged 14.3 points, a team-high 6.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a team-high 1.7 steals per game and shot 47% from the field. His 44.6% on 3-pointers (63 of 141) ranks third best all-time in Bulldogs history.

Kaeding ends run in style

Tim Kaeding capped his championship run with one last win -- and doing so from last place.

Kaeding started 24th but still took the checkered flag in Saturday's main event in Tulare to become the 2009 Trophy Cup champion.

Randy Hannagan finished second and Kyle Larson came in third.
