Fresno State isn't one of the best two football teams in the Mountain West -- and going to the conference championship game does nothing to change that reality. That said, it's better to keep playing games and getting better than to be going home in November. Just look at the carryover success that gave the Bulldogs men's basketball team. Oh, wait. ...
Never miss a local story.
Speaking of the Fresno State men's basketball team, so much for all the hopes lifted in last year's pay-to-play postseason run. Yes, the Bulldogs lost their point guard at the starting gate, but if any team is one injury away from losing to Marist they're certainly a long ways from being where they need to be in the first place. Good thing they know how to surge late.
If the Cavaliers or Lakers started the season 13-2, they'd have their own ESPN "30-on-30" segment by now. The Golden State Warriors do it, and it's all crickets and ribbets in the night. Clearly, their owner needs to start tweeting how those two losses are totally unacceptable to get attention in the Bay Area.
