1. Derek Carr met with officials from all 32 teams, but the team that got the longest look at him was the team that coached him at the Senior Bowl: the Jacksonville Jaguars, who need a new arm. Offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch coached his big brother, David, early on with the Texans. The Jaguars pick third, a prime spot. If they fall in love with Carr, they could trade down a few slots and still get him.
2. Former Fresno State coach Pat Hill was at the Senior Bowl, which doubles as a coaching convention. Let go by the Falcons, Hill is trying to catch on as an offensive line coach. His NFL reputation is stellar, his coaching chops proven. Too young to retire, Hill may have to sit a year out with so few vacancies out there.
3. How lousy has it been to be a Fresno State men's basketball fan? You had future NBA All-Star Paul George on the roster for two years, and couldn't even enjoy it because a) they had losing seasons and b) they had no clue they were in the midst of greatness. I'm not saying it's the curse of Tark, I'm not saying it isn't. I'm just saying.
