Eye-Q Two Cities Marathon & Half
When: Sunday
Where: Start line on Friant Road just north of Audubon Drive; finish in Woodward Park

Fresno's only 26.2-mile footrace returns for a second year, bigger and better than ever. This year's race has nearly reached its cap of 5,000 runners.

Start times are 7 a.m. for the half marathon and 7:30 a.m. for the marathon.

A Health & Fitness Expo will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Clovis North High, 2770 E. International Ave., Fresno.

Deadlines are approaching for several pheasant hunts for juniors, women, families and disabled persons offered through the Department of Fish and Game's Game Bird Heritage Program. Gov. Schwarzenegger vetoed SB 589, a bill that would have prevented money from sales of hunting license from being spent on nonhunting purposes. But anglers should be pleased that he cast aside the $6.30 Bay-Delta Enhancement Stamp, which will be phased out.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is waiving all day-use fees for veterans and their families on Veterans Day (Wednesday) at Pine Flat Lake, Eastman Lake, Hensley Lake, Lake Kaweah and Success Lake. Only a verbal confirmation of service is required.
