Forest Service extends OHV comment deadline
Forest users now have until June 30 to express their views on the Motorized Travel Management Plan, which will designate a system of off-highway vehicle routes in the Sierra National Forest.

Since releasing the Draft Environmental Impact Statement last month, officials have held six public forums to present the 900-page document. An additional forum has been scheduled for May 29 in Merced at the UC Cooperative Extension.

In addition, drop-in workshops will be held at forest service offices Tuesday in North Fork, Wednesday in Prather and May 28 in Clovis. All run from 4 to 8 p.m.

Comments can be e-mailed to sierra.route@fs.fed.us (include "Travel Management Comments" in the subject line) or mailed to Sierra National Forest, Attn: Travel Management Project Leader, 1600 Tollhouse Road, Clovis, CA, 93611.
