Location: Approximately 30 miles southeast of Shaver Lake along Dinkey Creek Road in the Sierra National Forest

Storage: Wishon Dam, completed by Pacific Gas & Electric in 1958, stores 118,000 acre feet of water (when full) from Helms Creek and North Fork of Kings River

Setting: High Sierra lake (elevation 6,600 feet) ringed by pine and fir forests

Activities: Uncrowded boating, fishing, camping, hiking, horseback riding, off-highway driving

Facilities: Nearby Wishon Village includes RV park, campground, market, cafe and boat rentals; one public boat ramp, two campgrounds with vault toilets; three picnic areas

Fishing: Typically open from Memorial Day through first snowfall for rainbow, brook and brown trout
