“You see what he can do,” Patterson said at Wednesday’s mini-camp. “I’ve been watching him for a long time and he’s one of the greats. There’s a a lot of great quarterbacks out there, and to play with Derek is an honor.”
Check out this clip from last week when Patterson made a one-handed grab at organized team activities from Carr.
Never miss a local story.
Carr helped recruited Patterson to the Raiders, and the team signed the 26-year-old Rock Hill, S.C., native to a two-year contract in March. Patterson spent the past four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. He finished 2016 with 453 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 16 games played – his best since 2013 when he had 469 yards and four touchdowns.
Patterson said he wants to keep getting better and help the team out.
“Just waking up each morning and thanking God and coming out here is a blessing to be a part of this organization,” he said. “Just come out here and contribute to the team and just having fun each and every day and not looking back and keep striving forward.”
