Redwood and El Diamante each scored runaway wins Friday night in Visalia to set up a West Yosemite League showdown next week.

At Mineral King Bowl, Dillon Root rushed 19 times for 157 yards and three touchdowns to power Redwood to a 56-6 victory over Golden West.

And at Community Stadium, No. 12 El Diamante beat Hanford West 56-9.

Friday at Mineral King, the defending WYL-champion Miners (6-1 overall, 3-0 WYL) meet host Redwood (3-4, 3-0) in a clash of league leaders.

Memorial 28, Madera South 0

Chris Brown rushed eight times for 226 yards and two touchdowns, leading visiting No. 7 Memorial to a 28-0 victory over Madera South on Friday night in the North Yosemite League.

Brown had touchdown runs of 88 yards in the second quarter and 70 yards in the third quarter. He helped the NYL-leading Panthers to a whopping 13.6 yards-per-carry average (23 carries for 313 yards).

Jordan Stallworth got Memorial going with a 73-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter, and Christian Garcia capped the big-play night with a 65-yard scoring run in the fourth.

Fresno 27, McLane 14

Juan Sanchez threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score to lead the Warriors to their first victory of the season, beating the winless Highlanders in an NYL game at Ratcliffe Stadium.

Fresno pulled away after leading 7-6 at halftime. Sanchez threw touchdown passes of 3 yards to Jordan Martin and 45 yards to Nicholas Castillo.

Dariuss Rodriguez rushed 12 times for 88 yards to lead the Warriors on the ground.

Sunnyside 14, Roosevelt 13

The Wildcats kept pace with Memorial in the NYL by tipping the Rough Riders at McLane Stadium.

The difference was a missed extra point.

For Roosevelt, Mark Fields rushed 16 times for 161 yards including TD runs of 56 and 43 yards.

Mission Oak 47, Kennedy 14

The Hawks got the first victory in school history, trouncing the visiting Thunderbirds in Tulare.

Oscar Banuelos scored three touchdowns for Mission Oak on a 14-yard run, a 29-yard pass from Jeffrey Costales and a 76-yard interception return. Banuelos added a second interception on the last play of the game.

Costales passed for 119 yards and two touchdowns.

Corcoran 63, Riverdale 0

Austin Fugate passed for 131 yards and two touchdowns, and the Panthers intercepted five passes in posting their fourth shutout.

Jose Rodriguez's 70-yard punt return just 1:15 into the game started the scoring.

Fugate threw scoring passes of 43 yards to Ryan Luna and 20 yards to Nick Correa. Pete Armbruster had touchdown runs of 4 and 20 yards.

Luna and Fugate helped lead the defense with interception returns for touchdowns. Luna also passed 50 yards to Rodriguez for a score.

Kingsburg 49, CVC 7

Tennessee-bound Tyler Bray riddled the Cavaliers for 240 yards and two touchdowns, and Garrett Steele rushed for 97 yards and three scores as the No. 13 Vikings rolled in the Central Sequoia League game in Visalia.

Bray completed 19 of 26 passes and connected with Benton Bray and Michael Torres on scoring passes of 9 and 4 yards, respectively.

Connor Potts led the Cavaliers with 20 carries for 110 yards and scored on a 10-yard run.

Lindsay 25, Strathmore 20

The host Cardinals held off the Spartans in the 87th renewal of the Bell Game.

The Tulare County towns are separated by about 4 miles on Orange Belt Drive.

Lindsay's second straight win in the series gives it a 52-31-4 lead over Strathmore.

Washington 14, Liberty-Madera Ranchos 6

Josh Williams made three big plays to help the North Sequoia League-leading Panthers beat the visiting Hawks in Easton.
