GIRLS BASKETBALL
Vanessa Gomez scored the game winner off a fastbreak layup with four seconds remaining in a see-saw battle that gave Roosevelt a 36-35 win over Sunnyside. The Rough Riders wrapped up North Yosemite League play at 10-0 and won their second straight league title.
Gomez's score was set up by a long outlet pass from Trinity Washington, who had rebounded the second of two Sunnyside free throws. Just prior to Washington's rebound, Sunnyside had taken a 35-34 lead.
Brianna Orlich dropped 22 points on Clovis and teammate Morgan Hatten had 19 as Clovis West won 88-37. The Golden Eagles clinched their fourth straight league title.
Dos Palos claimed its second straight league title as Brianna Moore scored 28 in a 62-38 win over Mendota.
Heather Loflin posted 25 points as Caruthers beat Firebaugh 58-45.
Miyah Rollins and Ofelia Keeno each had 16 points to power Hoover to a 40-31 win against Clovis North.
Estefania Santana had 21 points as Kingsburg beat Selma 62-37.
