BALLS, BATS AND BUZZ
Liberty-Bakersfield, in Southeast Yosemite League games, has won 36 straight and is 53-1 since the 2004-05 season. The Patriots were eliminated from the D-I playoffs all four previous seasons by TRAC teams, including three one-run decisions to Clovis West.
Bullard has won 50 of its past 51 in the County/Metro Athletic Conference. The Knights, likewise, were dumped from the D-I playoffs all previous four seasons by TRAC teams, but they did beat three in the process.
Redwood senior shortstop Blake Proctor, exceeding numbers put up by Rangers alum and current major leaguer Aaron Hill, is hitting .435 with a Tulare County record-tying 12 home runs, 33 RBIs and 14 steals.
El Diamante took a stumble in the rankings after its loss to Lemoore, with Edison of the CMAC taking advantage to reappear at No. 8.
