BALLS, BATS AND BUZZ
Washington senior Andrew Rich, with 172 career hits, has passed Clovis graduate Chris Patrick (169) at No. 2 on the section all-time list behind Centennial graduate Joe Ramirez (183). In state career doubles, Rich (51) is chasing Josh Barber (56, Mountain Empire-Pine Valley).
Stockdale and Centennial will win forfeit games today against Ridgeview and North, respectively, after Ridgeview and North were penalized a game each for engaging in a bench-clearing brawl Thursday.
Edison's outfield of T.J. McDonald, Marquise Cooper and Kenny Travis is the section's most athletic since Hanford's Shawn Wills, Albert Richardson and James Proctor in the 1980s. Wills (UCLA) and Richardson (Stanford) played college football, and Proctor played baseball (USC, Fresno State).
