With a five-hitter from Adriana Bencomo in a 5-0 County/Metro Athletic Conference victory over Clovis North on Friday, top-ranked Bullard won its ninth straight game. First place in the CMAC is at stake today when the Knights (4-0) host Sanger (4-0).
Central, powered by the bats of Julia Alonso and Marla Reiter, has won four straight heading into today's Tri-River Athletic Conference first-place tilt against Buchanan.
Tulare Western's 5-4 victory over rival Tulare last week sends North to the top of the D-II rankings. At 19-7, Tulare Western is on the verge of joining the top three in D-II.
In D-IV, .400-hitting Matraca Nord leads Kerman into a North Sequoia League first-place battle against .641-hitting Tori Rich and Washington.
