BALLS, BATS AND BUZZ

Four of The Bee's Top 10 teams are in Santa Maria this week for the Best of the West tournament, headlined by No. 1 Centennial.

Second-ranked Clovis will spend Thursday through Saturday in Tracy at the NorCal Classic, while No. 3 Buchanan heads over to the Central Coast for the Arroyo Grande Tournament.

Following its 3-1 showing at the Clovis Easter Classic that featured wins over TRAC powers Buchanan and Clovis West, Hanford West makes its rankings debut at No. 10. The young Huskies -- only one senior on a 13-player roster -- are riding the arms of sophomore Breanna Young and freshman Briana Pondecorvo.

Division IV powers collide Wednesday when Kerman hosts Washington in an NSL game.
