BALLS, BATS AND BUZZ

Clovis West's early-season no-hitters by Sean Silva, Aaron Garabedian and J.D. Silva drew attention from Cal-Hi Sports, which has the Golden Eagles ranked third in the state. At No. 15 is Buchanan and at No. 20 is Clovis, which has since beaten Buchanan and will host Central today and visit Clovis West on Friday in a titanic TRAC week.

Hanford, a Top-10 bubble team at 8-4 and 2-0 in the WYL, is now coached by former major league pitcher Tim Scott.

2007 Central Section champion Centennial (12-1) has overpowered the opposition in its hitter-friendly park, where the Golden Hawks are 8-0. They've launched 19 home runs, but things tend to change drastically on the road -- they lost 5-2 last week in a SWYL game at Ridgeview.
