BASEBALL
Brandon Jeffries' third hit of the game, a single, and Aaron Sing's two-run triple highlighted a two-out rally in the bottom of the sixth, snapping a 3-3 tie and lifting No. 5 El Diamante to a 5-3 win over No. 6 Redwood. The win gave the Miners at least a tie for the title in the West Yosemite League with a 9-0 record. Senior right-hander Blake Gimbarti pitched a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts for the Miners.
Konor Meeks and Josh Banuelos each homered and combined for seven RBIs as No. 7 Hanford, at 7-3, held onto long-shot hopes of catching El Diamante in the WYL with an 11-7 win over Hanford West.
