BASEBALL

Misael Villarreal faced the minimum number of batters in pitching a two-hit shutout as Lindsay defeated Orosi 7-0. Villarreal pitched to just 21 batters in the seven-game contest, struck out seven and did not allow a walk. He also went 2 for 4 with two runs and an RBI.

Strathmore lefty Gary Vail struck out 13, but it was Woodlake that won 6-2, led by Adrian Pena's three hits and three RBIs.

Efrain Arroyo hit two inside-the-park home runs and drove in five runs as Orange Cove beat Laton 10-4.
