KRISTEN ALBURN

Grade: Junior

Position: Pitcher

School: El Diamante

Quick pitch: A second-team all-state underclass pitcher, Alburn led the Miners to their second section title in three years by earning a 2-1 victory against Ridgeview in an 11-inning Division II final. She went 25-8 with a 1.44 ERA and 135 strikeouts in 218 innings and earned first-team All-West Yosemite League honors.

SHELLY BROWN

Grade: Senior

Position: First base

School: Clovis West

Quick pitch: A threat at the plate, Brown hit .388 with 38 hits, including seven doubles, and drove in 32 RBIs in 33 games. The first-team All-Tri-River Athletic Conference player had a .561 slugging percentage and possibly will play at George Washington University.

BETTYE ANN DOERING

Grade: Senior

Position: Pitcher/first base

School: Fowler

Quick pitch: A dominant force at 5 feet, 11 inches in the circle, Doering led the Redcats to their second straight D-V title by striking out 13 in the title game and giving up just one run in the playoffs. She went 17-6 with a 1.12 ERA and 217 strikeouts in 150 innings. A first-team All-Southwest Sierra League player, Doering hit .398 with 27 RBIs and a team-high 31 runs. She will play at BYU-Hawaii.

ANNA GAMEZ

Grade: Senior

Position: Catcher

School: Kingsburg

Quick pitch: The Central Sequoia League MVP led the Vikings by hitting .475 and driving in 22 runs. She helped Kingsburg win its first D-IV title since 1987. She hit .420 with 12 home runs and had 69 RBIs in her four-year varsity career and was a first-team all-league player all four years. Gamez is looking to play at Cuesta College.

ASHLEE GENSEAL

Grade: Senior

Position: Shortstop

School: Chowchilla

Quick pitch: The North Sequoia League MVP was the Redskins' power hitter. She hit a team-high .500 and led with 35 RBIs, 11 doubles, eight triples and five home runs in 32 games. She also had 46 hits and scored 31 runs. Genseal had a .958 fielding percentage and was the school's Female Athlete of the Year.

ALEXIS RAMIREZ

Grade: Senior

Position: Designated player/utility

School: Madera

Quick pitch: One of the most disciplined hitters in the TRAC, Ramirez had the team's highest on-base percentage at .488 and led with 16 walks and 22 runs scored. She also led the Coyotes with five doubles and four triples and had 22 hits in 70 at-bats in the DP role. Ramirez signed with San Jose State.

CELESTE SOTO

Grade: Senior

Position: Third base/shortstop

School: Buchanan

Quick pitch: The four-year starter hit .351 with 21 RBIs and 20 runs scored to lead the Bears. A first-team All-TRAC pick, Soto had five doubles, five home runs and a .455 on-base percentage. She signed with University of San Diego.

JUSTINE STRATTON

Grade: Senior

Position: Shortstop

School: Edison

Quick pitch: The first-team All-County/Metro Athletic Conference player hit .426 and played steady defense for the Tigers. She was named the school's Senior Girl Athlete of the Year and received the team's Offensive Player of the Year award. Stratton earned a scholarship to play at Providence College.

KATY TEAFATILLER

Grade: Senior

Position: Center field

School: Memorial

Quick pitch: The North Yosemite League MVP hit .567 with 17 hits, 12 runs and five RBIs in eight games to lead the Panthers to the NYL title. She hit .473 in the leadoff spot and had 52 hits, 19 RBIs and scored 34 runs in 33 games. She earned the team's "Big Stick" award.

CHRISTINE THOMSEN

Grade: Junior

Position: First base

School: Bullard

Quick pitch: A true lefty power hitter, Thomsen had a record seven RBIs in one game. A first-team all-state underclass pick, Thomsen hit a team-high .495 and led the Knights with 53 hits and 43 RBIs. She was named MVP of the CMAC and had a .738 slugging percentage with seven doubles, five triples and three home runs.
