Vertical/horizontal jump, Mt. Whitney

Grade: Senior

She’s qualified because: Robinson is the first three-time section champion in the triple jump in girls track and field. She placed fifth at the state meet with a jump of 39-8 that put her fourth on the all-time section list and No. 1 on the all-time Tulare County list. She topped it by going 40-1 1/4 at the Golden West Invite in Sacramento to become the section’s third-best all-time triple jumper. She won the section high jump title by clearing 5-8 (ninth all-time) and was second in the long jump at 17-5 1/4. She holds school records in the triple jump, long jump and pole vault. She signed with Sacramento State.

The word: “Moira is a special and gifted athlete. Much more than being a great athlete, Moira is a great person and an even greater competitor. She is the type of kid who will cheer on her fiercest competitor and congratulate others when they’ve completed a great accomplishment.” — Mt. Whitney coach Kim Moshier
