Distance, Buchanan

Grade: Senior

She’s qualified because: In her four years, Saylor is a seven-time conference and five-time section champion. She is a three-time section champion in the 1,600 and is only the third runner to accomplish this. Her time of 4:59.20 in the 1,600 is seventh on the all-time list, and she holds the third-best time in the 3,200 at 10:34.72. Saylor also won section titles in the 3,200 as a freshman and sophomore. In the 3,200, she placed seventh in the state after finishing fifth last year and third as a sophomore. She’s the school record holder in the 3,200 and is second best in the 1,600.

The word: “Lauren is a very committed person, who has been a key part of our success over the past four years. Lauren had a goal of running in college when she entered high school and that dream will be coming true in the fall when she attends University of Washington on a full scholarship.” — Buchanan coach Brian Weaver
