Grade: Junior

She’s qualified because: Yarbrough placed fifth in the state with a throw of 43-0 in the shot put. She finished third at the section meet with a throw of 42-3, and she holds the section’s second-best mark of 44-711/2 this season. Yarbrough won the TRAC and North Area titles in the shot and was the TRAC champion in the discus at 116-3.

The word: “Destanie was our team’s Outstanding Field Award winner. She is also one of the top shot-put throwers in the state and is coming back next year. She’s getting a lot of looks from some of the top D-I colleges in the nation.” — Clovis East coach Jim Farmer
