School: Clovis East

Position: Catcher

Year: Junior

She's qualified because: Orozco was recognized by opposing coaches for her lethal bat and solid play behind the plate. She made a statement by hitting .412 in TRAC play, which is rare because of the high-level pitching. She also hit .421 overall. Orozco was a leadoff hitter for half the season and scored a team-high 36 runs in leading the team to its best finish of 22-11-1. She was a first-team All-TRAC selection and is a three-year scholar athlete.

The word: "Angelina has an outstanding ability to lead the team. She was our defensive player of the year, and only one person stole on her all year." -- Clovis East coach Matt Mikolavich
