Year: Sophomore

Section finals events: 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley, 200 medley relay

He's qualified because: Swam to a second-place finish in the 200 individual medley with an All-America consideration time of 1:55.39. Followed that with a third-place effort in the 100 fly in 52.22 to cap his first season at Clovis West. McGough also swam the breaststroke portion of the Golden Eagles' 200 medley relay team.

The word: "There is no easy in his vocabulary. He doesn't miss a workout and he swims every single practice like it's his last one. His success is not so much from natural talent because he might be 5-8 on his toes. But he's got great technique. -- Clovis West coach Steve Baxter
