Position: Catcher

School: Tulare Western

Grade: Senior

He's qualified because: No Central Section catcher combined the hitting, speed and throwing ability as the athlete who started three years for teams that won 62 games. This season, the leadoff hitter batted .404 with 32 runs, 21 RBIs and 21 steals in 22 attempts. And he didn't make an error.

The word: "He wasn't slated to be a leadoff hitter, but he stepped in to be one of the best our school has seen. And he threw everybody out. He had a breakout year." -- Mustangs coach Ken Searcy
