Year: Sophomore

School: Clovis

She's qualified because: Won the sophomore race by 6 seconds at the Foot Locker West Regional in 18:35 at the 5K course at Mt. SAC. Clocked 18:32 for 28th place in D-I state race that put her 12th among sophomores in the state. She finished second (18:45) in the D-I section race, and hit a PR of 18:09 to place fourth in the D-I race at the Clovis Invitational.

The word: "I don't think we've had anyone who has progressed from where Saylah was as a freshman to the level she is now. Her fastest time at Woodward last year was 20:33, and she ran 18:09 at the Clovis Invite this season -- she's our team's most improved runner. She wasn't even in our top seven last year." -- Cougars coach Rob Brenner.
