Jesse Arellano, junior, Madera: Placed fifth in the TRAC (15:49), 12th in the section (16:00) and 39th in the state (15:59).

Jon Ross, senior, Clovis East: Key to Timberwolves' runner-up finish in section with 10th-place effort (15:58).

Javier Sanchez, senior, Madera: Steady stride led to fourth in TRAC (15:45) and ninth in section (15:47).

Johnny Sanchez, sophomore, Roosevelt: Established springboard to impact three-year career by finishing 13th in the section (16:01).

Danny Vartanian, junior, Buchanan: Just-miss first-teamer finished seventh in the section (15:55) and -- while many others slipped -- held firm with a 36th-place effort in the state (15:58).
