Edison High standout cornerback Tyler Horton made things official on Wednesday and signed his letter of intent with Boise State.
But not without a little flair for the dramatic first.
Horton, in front of a couple hundred people in the high school's auditorium, laid four hats on the podium: Cal, Fresno State, Miami and Florida.
After a thanking everyone involved with his recruitment process, he reached under his chair and pulled out the blue and orange Broncos hat.
"It's the place I felt most comfortable at," Horton said. "I've talked to many of their coaches and no other school could top those relationships."
Florida came on strong at the end and Edison coach Matt Johnson said the new Gators staff spent hours the past few days trying to land a signature from Horton.
Horton said the late push "added some pressure to my decision."
"At the end of the day," he said, "I had my mind made and I told Coach (Bryan) Harsin that I was sticking with him. We need to go get another BCS bowl win."
Horton finished his Tigers career with 14 interceptions and appeared on The Bee's All-Valley team the past two seasons.
