You know the bar has been set high when six touchdowns in a game is now considered a slow day.
But that’s the standard that Tulare Union High star Kazmeir Allen has set for himself.
A week after tying his school record of seven in a game, Allen found the end zone only six times Friday in Tulare’s 56-22 win over Porterville.
42 Tulare star Kazmeir Allen’s TD total for the season. He had 37 entering Friday, which led the nation.
Never miss a local story.
Allen, who entered the week as the nation’s scoring leader, now has an astonishing 42 TDs for the season.
Can any team stop or even really slow Allen?
No team in the East Yosemite League has come close so far, with the Tribe (8-0, 3-0) – which had risen to No. 3 in The Bee’s Central Section Top 10 coaches poll – winning its first three league games by a combined 181-42.
Tulare, by the way, is a Division II team for the section playoffs, which means none of the Tri-River Athletic Conference powers nor the big Kern County schools such as Bakersfield, Centennial and Stockdale will get an opportunity to try to tackle Allen.
Allen quickly found the end zone for the game’s first score Friday against Porterville and had 195 rushing yards and three touchdowns by halftime.
