Homecoming queens around are crowned throughout the country during football season.
It’s a timeless tradition that usually concludes with the crowd cheering as a teenage queen and king are crowned.
But sometimes the parade of candidates is just as memorable as the moment a winner is announced.
Immanuel High drew loud applause from its crowd throughout Friday night’s ceremonies.
Never miss a local story.
Homecoming queen candidates and their escorts got to roll into Immanuel’s County Line Stadium riding a variety of shiny cars and trucks.
Among the rides was a newer-model black and gray Corvette convertible.
There also was an old-school Corvette convertible that probably looked even more impressive to those at the game as the stadium lights could be seen glistening on the shiny black hood.
Another memorable moment came when Immanuel football player Micah Braden skipped halftime meetings with his team so he could partake in the procession.
Surprisingly, the student who ended up being named homecoming queen was riding in perhaps the least fancy car.
Justine Hatch was introduced while in 1963 Lincoln Continental Convertible.
A sweet car, for sure. Just not as impressive as some of the other rides.
Here are a couple of other homecoming introductions, including one for basketball star Krystale Gutierrez.
