Sanger High’s Andrew Azua scored four touchdowns and County pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 41-22 victory in the 63rd Fresno City/County All-Star Football Game on Friday at Lamonica Stadium.
Azua’s final TD run made it 27-22 with 6:41 to play. Caruthers’ Alex Puga added a 1-yard scoring run and Kingsburg’s Ty Muxlow also scored late.
The victory, a year after City won 27-0, snapped County’s four-game losing streak.
Clovis North’s Brent Bailey passed to Hoover’s Makevel Siharath to give City its final lead, 22-21, with 8 minutes to play.
Sunnyside’s Nate Hughes and Edison’s Brian Johnson connected on a game-record 89-yard to highlight a first half that ended in a 14-14 tie.
