The Bee's Spring All-Stars: Boys Volleyball First Team, Honorable Mentions

First team and honorable mention selections for The Bee's 2014 Boys Volleyball All-Star Team.


Vitals: Senior, Buchanan
Qualifications: All-Tri-River Athletic Conference first team middle blocker for Central Section Division I champion had 220 kills and 81 blocks as Bears went 36-5 and reached CIF Southern California Regional semifinals.


Vitals: Senior, Clovis West
Qualifications: All-TRAC first team middle blocker and repeat All-Bee performer led Clovis West to section D-I runner-up finish and into CIF SoCal Regional with 327 kills, 51½ blocks, 38 digs and 17 aces in finale to four-year varsity career.


Vitals: Junior, Sanger
Qualifications: All-County/Metro Athletic Conference first team outside hitter produced 441 kills, second-best in section and among top totals in state for teams with stats on MVP of the Sanger Slam also had 172 digs, 57 aces and 39 blocks.


Vitals: Senior, Clovis
Qualifications: Bee's 2013 Player of the Year earned All-TRAC first-team honors at outside hitter for section semifinalist while delivering 494 kills, 25 blocks, 40 aces and 170 digs. Led section with 510 kills as a junior while powering Cougars to section title.


Vitals: Junior, Fresno
Qualifications: North Yosemite League's Co-Player of the Year was driving force behind best season in program history (27-4 record, NYL title, section playoff quarterfinalist) with 444 kills, 50 blocks and 197 digs. Outside hitter was MVP of the Clovis West Clash of the Titans and Madera South Tournament.


Vitals: Senior, Buchanan
Qualifications: Libero helped Bears win three section titles in four varsity seasons, all of which ended in All-TRAC and All-Bee honors. Had career-high 482 digs this season, pushing career total to 1,341, and 529 serve receives with only 28 errors. Headed to play at Ohio State next season.


Vitals: Senior, Clovis
Qualifications: Repeat All-Bee selection and All-TRAC first team middle blocker contributed 229 kills, 49 blocks, 40 digs and 27 aces for team that went 32-11, reached section semifinals and finished ranked No. 26 nationally by


Vitals: Senior, Clovis West
Qualifications: Outside hitter helped power Golden Eagles to section runner-up finish and CIF Southern California Regional D-II tournament appearance with 227 kills, 14 blocks, and 42 digs, earning second-team All-TRAC honors. Was a three-year varsity player.


Vitals: Junior, Madera South
Qualifications: All-CMAC first team outside hitter led Stallions to 24-16 record, including 8-2 conference mark and quarterfinal finish in section playoffs, with 292 kills, 66 blocks, 201 digs and 11 aces.


Vitals: Senior, Buchanan
Qualifications: Repeat All-Bee setter and TRAC co-MVP had 1,026 assists (9.9 per set) along with 211 digs, 58 kills, 38 blocks and 14 aces as team won record eighth section title. Finished with 1,941 assists in two seasons.


Vitals: Junior, Sanger
Qualifications: CMAC MVP produced 780 assists, 46 aces, 41 kills and 99 digs as setter for team that went 29-7, 10-0 in conference for the first time, and reached section quarterfinals. Named all-tournament at Las Vegas Easter Classic and Sanger Slam.


Vitals: Junior, Clovis North
Qualifications: Broncos setter/opposite fed offense as team went 24-12 and reached section semifinals, posting 756 assists (8.7 per set) while earning All-TRAC first team honors. Also contributed 135 digs, 63 kills, 24 blocks and 20 aces.
