The Bee's Spring All-Stars: Girls Track & Field Outstanding Field Athlete

Clovis North's Rhesa Foster is the Outstanding Field Events Athlete on The Bee's 2014 Girls Track and Field All-Stars team.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD OUTSTANDING FIELD ATHLETE: RHESA FOSTER

• Grade: Sophomore

• School: Clovis North

• She's back: Foster repeats this honor and is well on her way to accomplishing only what former Clovis star Jenna Prandini has done in the 41-year history of long jumping in the Central Section Masters Championships -- win four golds. Foster won this year at 18-6 and had a season best of 19-6¾ -- No. 1 all-time in the section for a sophomore. Her personal best of 19-10½ last year remains No. 4 all-time in the section behind Riverdale's Doralee Roberts (20-7, 1971), West's Kam Warner (20-6¼, '93) and Prandini (20-4¼, 2011). By also placing third in the 100 (12.00), fourth in the 100 high hurdles (14.58) and sixth in the 200 (25.33), Foster delivered 24 of the Broncos' team-title 112 points in the Masters.

• He said it: "She had some hamstring and lower back issues, but she really worked through them diligently for the team and for herself. She's a tremendous young lady with a great work ethic and attitude. She's a joy to coach and be around, and she's definitely become a team leader at a young age." -- Broncos coach Rich Brazil
