The Bee's Winter All-Stars: Girls Soccer First Team

First team selections for the The Bee's 2013-14 Girls Soccer All-Stars.

JESSICA AGUILAR

School: Edison
Grade/position: Junior/defender
The résumé: Named County/Metro Athletic Conference Defender of the Year for her work on a backline that allowed four goals in 10 league games. Aguilar, who scored four goals, led a defense that posted 10 shutouts as Edison reached the D-II semifinals.

JULIE CAMPOS

School: Orosi
Grade/position: Senior/forward
The résumé: Co-Player of the Year in the East Sierra League had 27 goals and seven assists for D-V quarterfinalist Cardinals. Signed with Fresno State.

SYDNEY CASTONGUAY

School: Bullard
Grade/position: Junior/goalkeeper
The résumé: Made 166 saves (8.3 per game) for the County/Metro Athletic Conference champion and D-I runner-up Knights while allowing 20 goals in 1,424 minutes.

MEGAN CLAYPOOL

School: Clovis North
Grade/position: Junior/defender
The résumé: The Tr-River Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year was the leader of a backline that allowed 16 goals in 23 games (a 0.70 average) and posted 12 shutouts as Broncos that won the league title and reached D-I semis.

YESSENIAH DELGADILLO

The résumé: The County/Metro Athletic Conference's Co-Forward of the Year had 16 goals and 11 assists. Four-time first-team all-league pick had 40 goals and 39 assists in career. Being recruited by Cal Baptist, Biola and Hope International.

RYEN DARLING

School: Bullard
Grade/position: Sophomore/forward
The résumé: Picked up the scoring load from last season's Bee Player of the Year and older sister Morgan Darling by scoring 19 goals with 13 assists to earn County/Metro Athletic Conference Co-Forward of the Year honors for the D-I runner up Knights. Has 28 goals and 19 assists in two seasons.

LINDSEY DOVALI

School: Clovis
Grade/position: Senior/forward
• The résumé: Had six goals and five assists, earning second-team All-Tri-River Athletic Conference honors, in conclusion to four-year career that produced 23 goals. MVP of the All-Valley all-star game has signed with UNLV.

DARBY EMMONS

School: Clovis North
Grade/position: Senior/forward
• The résumé: First-team all-league selection led the Tri-River Athletic Conference champion and section D-I semifinalist Broncos with 12 goals. Headed to Azusa Pacific.

KACY FALK

School: Sierra
Grade/position: Senior/defender
The résumé: One of three to earn North Sequoia League MVP honors was named league's co-Defensive Player of the Year. Anchored a backline that posted 18 shutouts in 25 games en route to winning the D-V title. Also had nine goals and three assists.

KELLY GARZON

School: Central
Grade/position: Senior/midfield
The résumé: Had team-leading 12 assists and scored seven goals while earning first-team All-Tri-River Athletic Conference honors for D-I semifinalist Grizzlies. Produced school-record 32 assists in four-year career.

GABRIELA GIBEAULT

School: Sierra
Grade/position: Senior/forward, midfield
The résumé: One of the North Sequoia League's MVP's for the second straight year and a repeat All-Bee selection, Gibeault had 22 goals and 16 assists for the D-V champion Chieftains, scoring the winning goal in the final and semifinals. Finished four-year career with 71 goals and 47 assists.

CHAIANNE JONES

School: Hoover
Grade/position: Junior/defender
The résumé: Named the North Yosemite League's Defensive Player of the Year in her third season as a starter. The sweeper led a defense that allowed 19 goals in 29 games as the Patriots won the NYL title and went 18-5-6 overall.

SIERRA LEACH

School: Clovis West
Grade/position: Junior/forward
The résumé: Explosive offensive performer was the Golden Eagles' leading point producer with 12 goals and seven assists, leading to a first-team All-Tri-River Athletic Conference selection in her second season. Drawing college interest from Fresno State and Cal State Bakersfield.

AMBER MENDES

School: Sierra Pacific
Grade/position: Senior/midfield
The résumé: East Sequoia League MVP had 29 goals and 17 assists while leading the Golden Bears to their first section title. Mendes had a goal and an assist in 2-1 victory over McFarland in the D-VI final, capping a four-year career that produced 65 goals and 27 assists.

AMBER MITCHELL

School: McLane
Grade/position: Senior/forward
The résumé: Named the Offensive Player of the Year in the North Yosemite League after scoring 28 goals for the Highlanders. Finished four-year career with 42 goals.

CHRISTINA MONREAL

School: Buchanan
Grade/position: Sophomore/defender
The résumé: Led a Bears defense that allowed 28 goals in 27 games while posting eight shutouts en route to winning a third straight D-I title. The center back also scored four goals as Buchanan reached the semis of the CIF SoCal Regionals.

ALYSSA NISHIKAWA

School: Bullard
Grade/position: Junior/midfield
The résumé: Selected the County/Metro Athletic Conference Midfielder of the Year after helping the Knights capture the league title and finish as the D-I runner-up while contributing 10 goals, 13 assists and 53 steals.

JULIET OLSEN

School: Liberty-Madera Ranchos
Grade/position: Senior/forward
The résumé: Third-year starter was a tri-MVP of the North Sequoia League contributed 24 goals and 17 assists in 22 games for a Hawks team that went 10-0 in league and was a D-III semifinalist.

KELSEE POTTORFF

School: Clovis North
Grade/position: Junior/midfield
• The résumé: First-team all-league pick was the primary playmaker and handled all set pieces for the Tri-River Athletic Conference champion and D-I semifinalist Broncos, finishing with 11 assists. Committed to UC Irvine.

TAYLOR VAN DEN BERG

School: Central Valley Christian
Grade/position: Senior/defender
The résumé: Central Sequoia League's MVP was the backbone of a defense that posted 16 shutouts, including a 1-0 victory over Liberty-Madera Ranchos for the D-II title. Also an All-Bee pick in volleyball.

KIRSTEN VON METER

The résumé: All-Central Sequoia League selection had 24 goals and eight assists while leading Cavaliers to the D-III title. Signed with Cal State Northridge after producing 73 goals in three seasons.
