The Bee's Fall All-Stars: Boys Water Polo

The Bee's 2013 Boys Water Polo first team, honorable-mention selections and coaching kudos.


Kyle Archer

Vitals: Senior, Buchanan

Qualified because: Major contributor to a team that outscored opponents 426-195 on way to winning Tri-River Athletic Conference and Central Section Division I titles. First-team all-conference and All-Valley pick finished with 45 goals, 37 assists, 47 steals, 46 ejections drawn, 13 penalties drawn and 10 field blocks.

Conor Beers

Vitals: Junior, Clovis

Qualified because: Named first-team All-TRAC and All-Valley after leading Cougars to D-I runner-up finish. Scored 40 goals, converting on 47% of his shots, and contributed 22 assists.

Mario Bravante

Vitals: Senior, Redwood

Qualified because: Helped lead Redwood to its first West Yosemite League title in 23 years and runner-up D-II finish. WYL co-MVP and first-team All-Valley selection scored 69 goals to go with 57 assists and 69 steals. Converted 45% of his shots.

Erik Brown

Vitals: Senior, Buchanan

Qualified because: First-team All-TRAC and All-Valley pick had 58 goals on 55% shooting, 44 assists, 30 steals, 34 ejections drawn and 17 field blocks for league and D-I champ. Scored four goals in 12-5 win over Clovis in section final.

Trevor De Leeuw

Vitals: Senior, Tulare

Qualified because: Two-time All-Bee selection was leading scorer with 103 goals for Redskins team that won East Yosemite League and D-II titles and finished 32-0. All-Valley D-II MVP and first-team All-EYL pick had 23 assists, 34 steals.

Aidan Feigel

Vitals: Senior, Sanger

Qualified because: Two-time Bee All-Star, repeat selection as County/Metro Athletic Conference Player of the Year and first-team All-Valley D-III honoree. Feigel scored 80 goals (on 56% shooting), with 84 assists, 108 steals, 75 ejections drawn and 18 field blocks for the D-III runner-up Apaches.

Tristin Ferdinandi

Vitals: Senior, Memorial

Qualified because: Panthers goalkeeper is a Bee All-Star for a second straight season. Earned first-team All-CMAC and All-Valley D-II honors after making 202 saves to go along with 22 assists, 18 steals and one goal for D-II semifinalists.

Carson Ivancovich

Vitals: Junior, Clovis North

Qualified because: First-team All-TRAC and All-Valley D-I selection after leading Broncos to section semifinals. Scored 75 goals to go with 61 steals and 37 assists.

Jerry Kittlitz

Vitals: Senior, Buchanan

Qualified because: Notched five of his 51 steals in section D-I title victory. Finished with 55 goals on 51% shooting, 26 assists, 61 ejections drawn, eight penalties drawn and 21 field blocks to earn first-team All-TRAC and All-Valley honors.

Drew Montes

Vitals: Senior, El Diamante

Qualified because: Physical force at 6-foot-3 and 255 pounds, WYL co-MVP averaged more than five goals per game while scoring 144 times. He contributed 16 assists and 38 steals to a Miners team seeded fourth in D-I playoffs. Scored season-high 11 goals against Monache.

Erik Schlick

Vitals: Senior, Tulare

Qualified because: Contributed team-leading totals of 91 assists and 73 steals in Redskins' perfect season while winning EYL and D-II championships. League MVP and first-team All-Valley pick scored three of his 62 goals in section final win over over Redwood.

Luke Schuler

Vitals: Senior, Clovis West

Qualified because: Came on strong in season's second half to lead Golden Eagles to D-I semifinals. Clovis West coach Steve Mosher does not keep stats, but estimates Schuler scored about 80 goals en route to first-team All-TRAC and All-Valley honors.

Jacob Serpa

Vitals: Senior, Clovis

Qualified because: Named first-team All-TRAC and All-Valley after helping Cougars to runner-up D-I finish. Scored 40 goals on 41% shooting with 22 assists.

Dave Pickford and Nic Maes, Buchanan: Pickford handled conditioning and motivation, and Maes X's and O's as they drove senior-dominated team to second straight Tri-River Athletic Conference and Central Section Division I championships. The Bears cruised past Clovis 12-5 to cap a 29-3 season.
Bill Freeman, Tulare: After finishing as runner-up last year, Freeman directed his Redskins to a 32-0 season that featured an East Yosemite League championship and a 7-5 come-from-behind win over Redwood for the D-II title.
Mickey Goularte, Porterville: Led third-seeded Panthers to 8-7 upset of County/Metro Athletic Conference champ and top-seeded Sanger in the D-III championship, avenging loss to Apaches in 2012 final.
