Never miss a local story.
** From dance floor to links: Competitive dancing -- the whole gamut, hip-hop, tap, jazz and ballet -- consumed her from 3 years old to 11 until she picked up a club and asked herself a question. "Which one is going to help me in the future?" And if her dream is realized in that future, she'll be playing golf at Stanford.
** Rewards of dancing foundation: While Lim grew tired of dancing, she has no doubt the fundamental strengths of the activity transferred well to the golf course. "It helped me a lot. When I first hit a driver in seventh grade, I hit it 200 yards. My core muscles were really strong then because of dancing. In fact, I lost some distance on my driver this year, so I've been doing some exercises to get that strength back. I love the game. It's just very interesting how it all works. It can be frustrating but, at the end, I learn something -- how to cope and how to hit different shots. It's just very interesting how it all works."
