Turner gets last laugh on Hall, Falcons win 31-17
Michael Turner is looking a lot more like he did a year ago. DeAngelo Hall might want to keep his mouth shut the next time he faces his former team.
Turner ran for a season-high 166 yards, breaking away from Hall on a 58-yard touchdown that finished off Washington early in the fourth quarter, and the Atlanta Falcons snapped a two-game losing streak by beating the Redskins 31-17 on Sunday.
Hall, who made two Pro Bowls playing for the Falcons from 2004-07, yapped away all week about how Atlanta treated him unfairly before a trade to Oakland. He didn't even make it through one season with the Raiders and landed in Washington.

Falcons put Moore on IR, sign RB Stecker
The Atlanta Falcons placed safety William Moore on injured reserve with a hamstring injury and signed free agent running back Aaron Stecker on Tuesday.
Moore, who was Atlanta's second-round pick in this year's draft, played in just two games for the Falcons this season. The Missouri product recorded two special teams tackles against the Bears in Week 6.
Stecker has spent time with Tampa Bay (2000-03) and New Orleans (2004-07) during his nine-year NFL career. He has recorded 1,511 yards and eight touchdowns on 381 carries in 120 career games. Stecker has also caught 161 balls for 1,141 yards and three TDs.

Stecker predicts 'crazy' scene for Falcons-Saints
A visit from the Atlanta Falcons stirs emotions with the New Orleans Saints even when both teams struggle.
Just ask Aaron Stecker, the newest Falcons player who spent the last five seasons with the Saints.
Stecker, the running back who signed with the Falcons on Tuesday, had his first practice with the team Wednesday. Coach Mike Smith says Stecker may make an immediate contribution on special teams when Atlanta plays at New Orleans on Monday night.

Despite being brothers in arms, Air Force and Army still must compete
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Falcons are in the middle of a long, tense football season, and players don't have time to indulge in brotherly pageantry.
On Saturday, Air Force tangles with Army in another chapter of a service-academy rivalry. Falcon Stadium will be jammed. Many big planes will fly overhead.
"But on the football field," Falcons cornerback Reggie Rembert said with a shrug, "it's just another team."

NFL Preview - Washington (2-5) at Atlanta (4-3)
With little room for error in the NFC South, the Atlanta Falcons can't be too pleased with their first two-game losing streak under head coach Mike Smith.
Things seem to be aligning nicely for the Falcons, though. First, Atlanta returns this weekend to the Georgia Dome, where it is undefeated this year and has won six straight dating back to last season. Also, Sunday's opponent, the Washington Redskins, have lost three straight games and have yet to post a road win this season.
That formula should be enough for the Falcons to rebound from last Monday's 35-27 setback to the first-place New Orleans Saints. Atlanta fell three games behind 7-0 New Orleans in the standings, but was able to hang tough against one of the top teams in the NFL.
The Fresno Falcons have signed left wing Jarrett Konkle and defenseman Daryl Marcoux for the 2008-09 season.
Konkle will be playing his fourth season as a pro and his second with the Falcons. In 41 games last season, he tied for seventh on the team in scoring with 39 points on 16 goals and 23 assists. He missed the final 31 games of the regular season, and the playoffs, with an injury.
Marcoux enters his second pro season. He appeared in 62 games last season as a rookie with the Falcons, scoring four goals and adding 17 assists for 21 points. The 24-year-old led the club in plus-minus with a plus-18 rating.
