Fresno State picked up a pair of $300,000 national TV bonuses from the Mountain West on Wednesday, with two of the Bulldogs' football games moved to weekdays on ESPN2.
Fresno State's game against UNLV has been slated for the national telecast and moved to Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m. The second game picked up by ESPN2 was the Nevada game, which will now be played on Thursday, Nov. 5, also at 7:30 p.m.
As part of the Mountain West television agreement, Fresno State will receive $600,000 for the two national broadcasts. The conference's TV package pays schools $300,000 for non-Saturday games broadcast on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
Fresno State has also changed the date for its season-opening game against Abilene Christian, which was moved to Thursday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m.
"We are hopeful that by moving the season-opening game to the Thursday before Labor Day weekend, that it will allow our fans the opportunity to both watch the Bulldogs open up the 2015 campaign and still enjoy their full holiday weekend," Fresno State Athletic Director Jim Bartko said.
Also, Fresno State has set its Homecoming weekend for the Oct. 10 game against Utah State.
Hill joins radio team
Former Fresno State coach Pat Hill will join play-by-play voice Paul Loeffler in the booth this season on ESPN 940 radio broadcasts.
Hill, who coached the Bulldogs for 15 seasons between 1997 and 2011, began his broadcasting career last season on several ESPN college football telecasts.
With Hill assuming the color analyst duties, former Fresno State and NFL safety Cameron Worrell will move into the role of sideline reporter.
