'Dog briefs: Fresno State falls at home in volleyball

Kelli Parker recorded her first career double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs, but it wasn't enough to keep Fresno State from falling to Nevada 14-25, 25-20, 25-21, 26-24 in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match Monday at the Save Mart Center.

Needing a win to extend the match, the Bulldogs wasted a 24-23 lead in the fourth set.

Fresno State's Marissa Brand had a career high 10 kills, while Allanah Munson contributed 33 assists and 13 digs.

The Bulldogs (12-13, 5-8) host Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Save Mart Center in a must-win match to stay in contention for the WAC Tournament.

Fresno State seventh at golf tourney

Fresno State's Adam Barkow and Grant Doverspike each shot a 1-over 73 and are tied for 16th place individually after the first day of the Saint Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach.

The Bulldogs are tied for seventh place as a team after shooting a 9-over 297.

The tournament concludes today, with players teeing off at 7:30 a.m.
