Bhavik Patel shot a 6-under 65 as Fresno State surged into third with one round to play at the University of the Pacific Invitational.
Patel, a freshman from Bakersfield, delivered his low round of the season and the tournament's second-lowest of the day in moving from 18th place to fourth.
Michael Gideon, a junior from Lancaster, shot a 4-under 67 as the Bulldogs shot an 11-under 273 -- the second-lowest round of the tournament. They trail UC Davis by eight strokes and Oregon by nine entering today's final round.
