Fresno State seniors Taylor Leiby and Mirko Zapletal completed an improbable run to the finals of the ITA Northwest Regional Doubles Championships by winning two more matches Monday.

That included an 8-5 upset of Sacramento State's No. 6 Anton Stryhas and Kiryl Harbatsiuk. Unranked Leiby and Zapletal followed that with an 8-6 conquest of Washington's Alex Rosinski and Tobi Obenaus, earning the right to meet Stanford's No. 8 Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher for the title at noon today.

The winner will advance to the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at New Haven, Conn., on Nov. 5-8.

Bulldogs hoops teams to host open practice

The Fresno State men's and women's basketball teams will hold a Community Hoops Night on Nov. 2 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Save Mart Center.

Coaches Adrian Wiggins and Steve Cleveland will give fans a clinic on how they run their practices and give the public a chance to see the new rosters.

Admission and parking for the event are free.
