'Dog briefs: Fresno State earns soccer victory

Chalk up another 1-0 victory for the Fresno State women's soccer team.

Laura Dodd scored in the 61st minute off assists from Kendall VanDine and Rachel Pickett as Fresno State edged Louisiana Tech on Sunday at Bulldog Stadium.

Fresno State (4-9 overall, 2-1 Western Athletic Conference) has won three games by a 1-0 score.

The Bulldogs next play Friday at Utah State (7-7-1, 2-1).

Bulldog wins ITA consolation

Fresno State tennis player Anastasia Petukhova won the consolation championship of the ITA All-American Main Draw in Los Angeles.

Ranked No. 22 in the nation, Petukhova defeated No. 11 Yasmin Schnack of UCLA 6-4, 6-3 for Petukhova's first victory against a top-15 opponent this year.

Fresno State equestrians lose

The Fresno State equestrian team lost at No. 5 Texas A&M 11-8 to conclude the Bulldogs' two-day road trip to the Lone Star State.

Fresno State lost to No. 8 Texas Christian 10-6 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs, who were ranked ninth in last week's national coaches' poll, moved to 1-2 on the year.
