The first season for Fresno State women's soccer coach Brian Zwaschka just can't seem to get on the right track.

The Bulldogs again failed to score and missed their chance to win back-to-back games for the first time as Fresno State lost 2-0 to Sacramento State on Sunday at Bulldog Stadium.

Fresno State (2-7) outshot Sacramento State 8-6 but was shut out for the sixth time.

The Hornets (4-3-2) scored on an unassisted goal from about 25 yards out 7:18 into the game, then again at 75:48.

Fresno State was coming off a win against UC Davis last week. Sacramento State had entered Sunday on a four-game winless streak and hadn't scored during that stretch of three losses and one tie.

Fresno State tennis closes strong

Fresno State sophomore David Ayoun concluded his first collegiate tournament on a winning note when No. 71 Alex Llompart of Pepperdine retired during Sunday's match at the Wave Invitational in Malibu.

Ayoun won 6-4, 0-1 after Llompart called it quits early in the second set. Ayoun moved to 2-1 on the season.

Senior Taylor Leiby went 6-0 in singles and doubles, and Fresno State swept its three doubles matches against Arizona.
