Clovis’ Jordan Cantrell placed 13th in the 85-kilogram division (187 pounds) at the International Weightlifting Federation’s Junior World Championships on Wednesday in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The 19-year-old Clovis East High graduate lifted a total of 699.6 pounds, with 319 in the snatch and 380.6 in clean-and-jerk.
China’s Jiawen Liu won, lifting a combined 803 pounds (363/440). American Nathan Damron was ninth.
In April, Cantrell placed fourth in his division at the Pan-American Junior Championships.
