Reedley College was second as a team and West Hills-Lemoore’s Gareth Evans placed fourth individually at the California Community College Men’s Golf Championship on Monday at Kings River Country Club in Kingsburg.
The Tigers, who won the Northern California Regional last week, shot 366 in the second round to climb from fourth to second at 741. Champion College of the Canyons was eight strokes better at 733.
Ben Hallam and Dan Godin led Reedley’s second-round charge, each shooting 2-under 70s. Hallam finished in a seven-way tie for sixth place individually at 1-over 145, and gained the sixth and final All-State honor by carding the best back nine of the group.
Godin was 16th in the 60-player field at 146, while Jacob Ruffino was 23rd at 149 for the Tigers.

Evans shot an even 144 and earned fourth on a tiebreaker with San Joaquin Delta’s Raymon Tira. West Hills teammate Jordan Koelewyn shot 145 and finished 12th on tiebreakers. Fresno’s Trent Nishimura was 59th at 164.
Chabot’s Jeremy Sanchez was the individual champ at 8-under 136. He shot a 7-under 65 in the first round.
