The Fresno City College baseball team erupted for nine runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by Christian Funk's three-run home run to right, as the NorCal's No. 2 Rams cruised past No. 19 College of the Sequoias 10-6 in a Central Valley Conference baseball game at John Euless Ballpark on Tuesday.
The Rams won their ninth consecutive, putting coach Ron Scott a win away from 900 for his career. He would be the third state coach to reach 900 behind Don Sneddon (Southwestern, retired) and Scott Pickler (Cypress, active).
Fresno City right-hander Connor Brodgon improved to 5-0 though he allowed a season-high six runs.
The Rams and Giants next meet at 2 p.m. Thursday in Visalia.

The Tigers improved to 6-10 and 3-4, while the Blue Devils fall to 10-6 and 5-2.
JC softball: Roberts powers Fresno City past COS
Nicole Roberts hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the second inning to help power Fresno City past College of the Sequoias 6-4 in a CVC softball game.
Sarah Santana drove in three runs for the Rams, who improved to 5-13 and 1-0.
The Giants dropped to 6-15 and 0-1.
