Stanford sophomore Zach Nevills (Clovis High) placed third in the 184-pound division at the Pac-12 wrestling championships.
Nevills captured the third-place match with a 3-2 tiebreaker victory against Cal State Bakersfield's Sean Pollock. Nevills received an opening-round bye as the No. 4 seed but was sent to the losers' bracket after a 6-2 loss to top-seed Blake Stauffer of Arizona State.
Nevills then worked his way through the loser's bracket to beat Boise State's Austin Dewey 6-2 before defeating Pollock.
Also, Cal Poly's Jason De La Cruz (Buchanan) won his opening match in the 133 class before falling in the second round by fall in 1:39 against top-seeded Jack Hathaway of Oregon State. De La Cruz then lost in the losers' bracket 17-7 to Arizona State's Judson Preskitt.

Cal State Bakersfield's Spencer Hill (Buchanan) lost his opener in the 157 class by fall in 2:11 to Boise State's Steven Hernandez then was bounced out with a fall to Arizona State's Oliver Pierce in 1:42.
