Ten kids from the East Fresno Boys and Girls Club got to catch a glimpse of the Super Bowl XLIX frenzy.
The group arrived in Phoenix on Saturday to compete in the 11- to 12-year-old coed NFL FLAG championships powered by USA Football National Championship.
With that came the perks of attending Sunday’s Pro Bowl, Tuesday’s Media Day and even staying in the same hotel as the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.
“We got to run on the field before the Pro Bowl and high-five the players,” said 13-year-old Bruce Choun, of Sequoia Middle School, who also got to meet linebacker C.J. Mosley of the Baltimore Ravens, his favorite team.
Over the weekend, the team got to meet former and current athletes Kurt Warner, Deion Sanders, Barry Sanders, Colin Kaepernick and Tony Romo.
“The experience itself was awesome and something these kids will never forget,” said coach Ron Zisler.
The team went 0-4 at the NFL FLAG championships.
