Jacob Fukano won the 90th Annual Fresno City Amateur Golf Championship on Monday by just one stroke at Riverside Golf Club.
Fukano shot 4-under 212 over three rounds, using a final-round 69 to hold off runner-up Scott Travers.
Fukano opened the annual Memorial Day tournament with rounds of 72 Saturday and 71 Sunday then pulled himself up the leaderboard Monday with four birdies through his first 10 holes.
His game got a bit inconsistent on the back nine as he headed to the clubhouse, but he was able to counter bogeys on 13, 15 and 17 with birdies on 14 and 16 and a par finish on 18.
Never miss a local story.
Travers shot the best round of the day Monday, a 7-under 65 that included an eagle and seven birdies with two bogeys.
Two-time champion Jason Anthony (2014, ’07) and Marcus Potter tied for third at 215 followed by Adam Stone (217) and Mike Stieler (218).
