The California Legislature has passed new gun control laws, and some were vetoed by our governor. All of these new laws should have been vetoed and sent back.
I am in favor of background checks so that the wrong people are not allowed to purchase guns. But doing background checks to purchase ammo is ludicrous. Who will pay the people who are going to monitor these requests and handle the paperwork? The taxpayers, of course! How long will this process take? Weeks? Months?
I can envision a 75-year-old man who wants his grandkids to shoot his iconic Red Ryder BB gun having to complete a background check to purchase BBs.
