In his letter of July 6, Joel Dyer expresses his criticism of my support for Donald Trump because I choose to run a transparent company and Mr. Dyer believes Trump is not transparent.
The last two presidents have added $12 trillion to our national debt, despite record low interest rates and hundreds of billions of annual deficits our economic growth rate since 2005 has never exceeded 3 percent. Over 50 million Americans are on food stamps and we have an employment rate at its lowest level since the ’70s.
We import cheap labor to do entry-level jobs while paying millions of able-bodied Americans benefits not to work. ISIS is rampant throughout the world, and our FBI is investigating terror cells in all 50 states while we refuse to secure our borders.
Our entitlement liabilities outstrip our ability to pay by over $60 trillion due to the bipartisan mismanagement of Social Security and Medicare.
Pardon me if I don’t care whether Trump releases his tax returns or documents his charitable contributions. It is breathtaking that any American would care about such trivial matters in the face of such massive and unsolved problems threatening what was once a very prosperous nation.
